Yes, for everyone’s safety! Your load must be secured so nothing can leave your vehicle. If we feel your load is not secure or loaded as to be unsafe, you will be assessed a $25.00 surcharge.

Evergreen Environmental Technologies employees do what they can to help. There are times when help may not be available. If you require help to unload or have special disposal requirements please call Evergreen Environmental Technologies to make arrangements.
When you first arrive at Evergreen Environmental Technologies you will drive onto and stop on a large vehicle scale. Please obey traffic signals and signs. The scale attendant will weigh you and ask your last name and which town or municipality the debris originated from. When this is complete the scale attendant will direct you where to drop off your debris. When you have finished dropping off your debris you will go back to the same scale as you entered on, stop to be weighed out. The scale attendant will advise you when you may leave the scale. If you are dropping off any construction/renovation material, you will be asked more location information. Some towns and municipalities have by-law concerning these items. Please check with you local municipality for further information. Remember these are by-laws for towns and municipalities and Evergreen Environmental Technologies only passes on information. Evergreen Environmental Technologies is a partnership of the towns of Carberry, Minnedosa, Neepawa and the municipalities of Elton, Langford, Minto, North Cypress, and Odanah. Only trash and debris from these partners can be disposed of at Evergreen Environmental Technologies. However Evergreen Environmental Technologies is a regional depot for most Stewards sponsored recycling (Product Care, Clean Farms, and EPRA). Please call for more information.
There is no charge for disposing household debris at this time. Some towns and municipalities do charge for the disposal of construction /renovation debris. Please check with your local offices for information regarding these charges.
Unacceptable trash would be:
- Liquid waste
- Liquid industrial waste
- Dead livestock
- Hazardous and untreated infectious medical wastes
- Unbagged asbestos
- Treated Seed
- Hot loads

Special Waste would be:
- Asbestos containing materials – must be double bagged in yellow industrial bag sealed by tuck tape. No Saturday drop off.
- Industrial Waste –Call ahead to make arrangements. No Saturday drop off.
- Powdery Waste– Call ahead to make arrangements. No Saturday drop off.
- Large quantity recycle loads – Call ahead to make arrangements. No Saturday drop off.
- Ashes/burning barrels – Drives must assure ashes are cold before arriving at Evergreen Environmental Technologies.
- Household Hazardous Waste – Such as flammable liquids (Kerosene, Varsol, ect.) Toxics such as (furniture stripper, Tar and Bug remover ect.) Corrosives such as ( rust remover, pool/hot tub cleaner, ect.) For a complete list see Product Care or Evergreen Environmental Technologies.
Soil contaminated with “low carbon“ hydrocarbon. Please called for further information regarding delivery and an analytical report is required.
Recycling comes in many different forms, from cardboard and paper to television sets, batteries and tires. The point of Recycling is help the environment and to extend the life of the waste cell at the Evergreen Environmental Technologies site.
Every type of recycling comes with its own set of recycling guidelines. Recycling done improperly will be destroyed. It is important to recycle, but it is important to recycle properly.
The following is a guideline for curb side pickup and depot drop off recycling.
Gable Top – Milk carton, juice boxes etc.
Aluminum – Pop, alcohol cans etc. Cans should be empty
Box board – cereal boxes, Kleenex boxes, etc. – remove inner plastic liner
Cardboard – boxes – remove Styrofoam and plastic packaging (These are not recyclable at this time.)
Paper – Newsprint, catalogues, soft covered books,( hard covered books remove cover), envelopes, etc…. (Wrapping paper is not recyclable)
Plastic – look on the bottom of the container for the recycle symbol with the following numbers 1,2,4,5 and 7. Please rinse containers.
Tin/Cans – soup, food cans etc. Labels can remain on but please rinse.
The following is a guideline for items not included in a recycling program, please place these items in trash containers.
- Dirty containers
- Fish tanks
- Used clothes (can be taken to Thrift shop)
- Plastic film wraps (saran)
- Grocery bags (check with local stores)
The following items can be recycled; however these items must be dropped off at Evergreen Environmental Technologies and not included in your curb side recycledepot drop off.
Agricultural herbicide and Pesticide Containers – Evergreen Environmental Technologies is a depot for Clean Farms. Herbicide and Pesticide containers must be triple rinsed with caps and booklets removed.
Automotive Batteries – Please let scale attendant know how many you have.
Baler Twine, Bale Wrap, Grain bags – Evergreen Environmental Technologies has bags for all three disposals. Please contact Evergreen Environmental Technologies for free recycle collection bags.
Ballasts – Florescent fixtures can be dropped off at Evergreen Environmental Technologies. Evergreen will remove the ballasts for proper disposal. For more information please contact Product Care.
Electronic Waste – Evergreen Environmental technologies is a depot for EPRA Manitoba. Electronic waste such as televisions, microwaves, stereos, cell phones, computers, printers, one time use or rechargeable batteries are some items collected. For a complete list of items please contact EPRA. Please inform scale attendant that you would like to drop off these items. For record keeping purposes the attendant will ask what type and how many electronics you are dropping off.
Florescent light bulbs – Compact bulbs and tubes are accepted at Evergreen Environmental Technologies. Please do not put in with household trash and take care not break bulbs. For more information please contact Product Care. Please let scale attendant know when you are dropping off florescent light fixtures. Evergreen Environmental Technologies employees will remove the ballasts for proper disposal.
Freon Containing appliances – Fridges, Freezers, water coolers, de-humidifiers are collected at Evergreen Environmental Technologies. Evergreen Environmental Technologies will make arrangements to have the Freon removed. Please let scale attendant know when you have these items. These items DO NOT go to the metal pile.
Glass – Only bottles and jars are recyclable. Please do not place in with household recyclables. Glass is collected separately. Car windshields, toilets, mirrors, fish tanks, dishes and light bulbs are not recyclable.. Check with your local municipal offices in regards to glass pickup or drop off in your area.
Household aerosol cans – You can drop off your household aerosol cans at Evergreen Environmental Technologies. These items can include household products such as room air fresheners, furniture polish, cooking spays, food products and so on. Please let scale attendant know you have these products for proper disposal. For more information of other products please contact Product Care.
Household Batteries–Household batteries can be as small as hearing aid batteries to as large as power tool rechargeable batteries. We accept single use and rechargeable batteries. Please let scale attendant know so the batteries can be handled properly. For more information about recycling household batteries contact call2recycle.
Mercury Devices– Some Mercury devices include thermostats and smoke detectors. Place items in a plastic Ziploc bag and let scale attendant know. Please do not break. For more information regarding recycling mercury devices contact Switch the Stat.
Paint and aerosol paint cans – Evergreen is a regional depot for the collection of used paint. This means you can drop off your empty, partially filled paint containers and aerosol paint cans. For more information on this program please check with Product Care.
Propane tanks – Evergreen Environmental Technologies accepts large barbeque tanks down to small green camp stove propane tanks for recycling. Please let scale attendant know for disposal directions. Do not put in metal pile! For more information contact Product Care.
Scrap Metal – Stoves, washers, dryers and bed frames are some of the metal items collected at the Evergreen Environmental Technologies. Please let the scale attendant know when you have these items. Derelict vehicles are not allowed on site. Propane tanks, computer related products, Freon devices, microwaves , batteries, ballasts, paint tins or household trash DO NOT go into the metal pile. If you have these items let scale attendant know for proper disposal directions.
Tires – All types and sizes of tires may be dropped off at Evergreen Environmental Technologies. Please let scale attendant know how many tires you are dropping off. Tires can be on rims. For more information regarding tire recycling contact Tire Stewardship Manitoba.
Used Oil/ oil jugs/ oil pails/ oil filters – Please let scale attendant know if you have these items. If you are dropping off used oil the attendant will have you sign for disposal. To do that you will need to enter your name, vehicle license number and quantity of used oil being dropped off.
Wood and wood products – Any wood or faux wood products can be disposed of at Evergreen Environmental Technologies. These products are processed by a Rotochopper which chops the wood into chips. For the safety of employees, Evergreen Environmental Technologies asks your help in not placing wood with iron, rebar, steel or wire attached to it in the wood pile. Please no garbage placed in pile. Nails, screws and small cabinet hinges can be safely chopped.
